Todd Heimer Athletic Award

Todd Heimer was a 1973 graduate of NS high school.  He is remembered not only for his athletic ability on the baseball field, leading the Vikings to the County Championship in 1972, the Seton Hall University baseball team to the College World Series in 1974 & 1975, and pitching for the Cleveland Indians for five seasons, but for his dedication and work ethic off the playing field.  Todd Heimer was highly respected as an athletic educator and administrator, leading Nassau BOCES for 16 years as its Director for Interscholastic Athletic Programs and serving on the New York State Athletic Administrators committee.

The Todd Heimer Athletic Award is given to a male and female student athlete who demonstrates heart, hustle and hard work in multiple sports.  A  scholarship award is given to each of the student athletes.  To be considered, an athlete must be a member of the Athletics Booster Club for three of their four years of high school eligibility.  A committee comprised of community members who knew Todd and are not currently affiliated with the Athletics Booster Club review the applicants and interview, if necessary, the final candidates.  Coaches may also make recommendations on behalf of the applicants.  This award is presented to the student athletes at the end of the year Varsity Awards Dinner.

Seniors interested in applying for this scholarship should contact the Athletic Booster Club at:
