Todd Heimer was a 1973 graduate of North Shore High School. He is remembered not only for his athletic accomplishments on the baseball field, leading the Vikings to a County Championship in 1972, the Seton Hall University team baseball team to the college World Series in 1974 &75, and pitching for the Cleveland Indians for five seasons, but for his dedication and work ethic off the playing field. Todd Heimer was highly respected as an athletic educator and administrator, leading Nassau BOCES for 16 years as its Director for Interscholastic Athletic Programs committee. The Todd Heimer Athletic Award is given to athlete(s) who demonstrate heart, hustle and hard work in multiple sports. While Todd Heimer clearly excelled on the field he impacted athletics in many other ways. Therefore, it is the goal of the Booster Club to award this honor to an athlete(s) who positively impacts their team and teammates in ways that are not necessarily reflected in statistics and who is not already being honored by the athletic department.
